I initially had the idea for braindeadair when I was sitting in a cafeteria nursing my asparagus latte, watching a tramp trying to work out how to open a tin of sweetcorn he had come by. I was naturally struck by the analogy and wasted no time in getting to work on the project. Luckily I was between contracts as a Fresh Media Interactiveness Consultant at the time and was able to focus a not insignificant amount of energy to the 'air. As time passed I found the project slowly but surely beginning to take enticing shape, and I enjoyed a new-found sense of cultural validation, fitting in the necessary research between consulting projects sadly still needed to pay for the extension.

Of course these days braindeadair is very much more than the product of one restless citizen flailing around caught in contemporary headlights. A lively little troupe, today we number 6 or something, allowing us each to bounce endlessly about our favoured locations upon the cultural map.

It is only now that I can sit back and take a certain level of gratification in the success of the project, that I dare to cast my mind back to the heady days of November 2008, when it all seemed little more than a crazy fucking dream, one of those ones where you wake up thinking your legs have been amputated.

Peaceful enlighteningments to all of our users.
